(More customer reviews)I'm a competitive shooter and I have some hearing loss from my time served in the military, so hearing under normal conditions is a problem for me without wearing hearing protection. With normal hearing protectors on I can hear basically nothing.
Using the Peltor 97087's for the first time, I was amazed. I cranked the volume up all the way and could hear better with them on than I could with them off AND they completely muted all loud noises. I could have normal conversations with friends at competitions for the first time!
The fact that they are stereo (have a mic in each earpiece) is a great bonus as well since you can tell exactly where any sound is coming from.
They fit great and are comfortable, shooters and hunters will love these.
Only one minor negative is that you have to remember to turn the microphones off when you finish shooting but that doesn't take long to get used to. The first time you forget should be your last because the batteries will die in a few days. Of course they work great as normal ear protectors without the batteries but you lose the advantage of being able to hear while wearing them.
Advice; Keep a pair of spare batteries in your shooting bag!
