(More customer reviews)I purchased a couple of these, they have a nut welded to the back of them and anyone that has ever changed their oil in the Yamaha 1300 know it is just about impossible to remove the old filter. The last time I did an oil change, I had to use a screwdriver and had to puncture the old filter to spin it off. The price on this item from Amazon is great I paid $16.00 at the dealer for the Yamaha Filter.
This cost less and makes the job easier how can you go wrong.

They have always worked well for me so I have no complaints. One nice feature is the top of the filter is coated with a material that allows your oil filter wrench grip it well so it doesn't slide off when trying to tighten or loosen it.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this filter for my GS500f, I was 50/50 on it coming with a gasket. I know OEM sukuzi wanted you to pay extra for this gasket. The K and N did come with a gasket for the housing cap, actually 2 gaskets. I guess maybe the older or other models uses same filter but different cap. Upon removing your cap you can instantly see which gasket you need.
This is a great deal. Cheaper then OEM and it has a gasket. Amazon paired with free shipping is a lot cheaper then local stores.

K&N KN-204C Powersports High Performance Oil Filter Review

(More customer reviews)Black or Chrome, it didn't matter to me. On my bike it's hidden under a fairing anyway. I bought this for the nut welded on the end of the filter. This is such a simple solution especially if you have a bike with fairings that are a pita to remove. Easy on and off using the nut and a socket extention.
If you've ever had to punch a screwdriver through an oil filter and tap it loose with a hammer (potentially endangering knuckles or fairings) this is the answer to your problems.
Seems to perform fine. I haven't discovered any issues with the filter performance.
This is the only filter I'll ever buy again.

The only complaint I have is when installing the filter there needs to be a better way to install it than with the somewhat flimsy gasket. They do include an extra gasket for future use.

K&N KN-198 Polaris/Victory High Performance Oil Filter Review

(More customer reviews)So, I'm not a mechanic though I do my own work whenever feasible. This worked great on my Victory 2007 Hammer S. One thing in particular I liked was that it has a nut on the end of the filter. Working under the bike it was easier to tighten with socket/ratchet and came in REALLY handy since I could not find my stupid oil wrench. Plus you can tighten to torque with socket and ratchet too. The filter fit perfectly with no leaks (I checked multiple times including placing paper towels under bike to see even slightest drip).
Prior to performing my first oil change on this bike, I was having problems with my bike stalling with oil light due to overheating... this was fault of previous owner (and perhaps mine for not doing oil change immediately after purchasing bike), but I mention it to give you a baseline. I switched to this filter and Mobil V-twin 20W-50 Synthetic (Amazon had a great price with free S&H on oil too). I'm in AZ desert where its been over 100 degrees (again, context). I then ran the bike hard several mornings, plus a day trip up to Show Low (through Payson) and back. This is going from 1500 ft to over 7600 and back... zero problems. My oil temps stayed steady and the engine ran great. I also got a little bit better mileage.
Now, I'm not saying this oil filter fixed my problems or improved my mileage... that was due to previous oil levels and type versus correct levels and type... however I think my situation and experience demonstrates a 'real' test and it performed well. I'm happy I bought this filter and I've always been happy with K&N products.
