(More customer reviews)If you are mechanically inclined and don't keep a tube of Permatex's Rubber Sealant handy you have been missing something. I restore antique motorcycles and it would take more space than I have to list every application I have found for this product from making odd rubber gaskets to insulating electrical connectors to repairing rubber joints. Like most products it has its small faults and limits. Once you open the tube it will start drying out and become useless in a month or so no matter how tightly you try to reseal it. Occasionaly the dried sealant under the cap makes it difficult or even impossible once opened to remove the screw-on cap without tearing the tube open. Application has to be immediate since the solvents in the rubber evaporate quickly and adhesion suffers. I found several new tubes to be improperly mixed inside when I opened them and a clear plastic goo ran out but this has only happened once. In spite of these nuisances this rubber sealant is a wonder product for almost anything and I am never without several tubes in my shop.
