(More customer reviews)I like these filters because they get rid of the airbox and make working the carb a lot easier, but the fit isn't all that great, and if they get the tinyest bit off you may as well throw them away.
Do not put these in hot water. Mine warped and became useless. Maybe the water was too hot.. I don't know, but they shrunk somehow and would no longer fit.
Performance gain? Don't buy them if you aren't already working on the bike. I don't imagine much of a gain coming from just changing the carb, in fact I would expect a loss if you install these on stock carbs. Your airbox is tuned and made to work with your stock carb. If you carb is stock, chances are your existing airbox is going to work better than any generic bolt on stuff.
Installation require a long screwdriver and sometimes dexterous fingers. Removal of the existing airbox can be a nightmare. I've heard of people using saws to do it, but I managed to get mine out in one piece.
These are a must have if your carb is jetted and needs seasonal attention. Make sure they are the right ones for your bike. 100% sure! CHECK!
